For over 25 years Victor Sloan has been returning to imagery from the ‘troubles’ as the basis for his work. Recently he revisited several well-known ‘hot spots’ along with a group of tourists on an open top bus. The bus stopped at these ‘hot spots’ and Victor, along with the tourists took photographs.

Although the levels of violence were no longer apparent, the imagery remained. The slogans, flags and murals were still there - in fact even more so. There was no fundamental change; no softening of approach to the others' views, the entrenched ways people stilled viewed each other remained. Victor Sloan records this “designer troubles” as he calls it in this new series of colour photographs named Stop after his bus ride.
